THE PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY SOCCER ASSOCIATION

The Prince Edward County Soccer Association (PECSA) has grown over the past 20 years from an average of 40 players to our current registration of over 700 players! Games are played 3 nights a week on our Johnson Street fields.

THE POSITION

In order to best support our players, referees, and volunteer board, PECSA has determined that a seasonal, part time Field Marshall is required. We are looking for a seasonal, part time Field Marshall to serve as the face of PECSA and connect with our players, parents, coaches and referees on game nights.

The ideal Field Marshall enjoys being around people and can manage multiple tasks at once. They must understand the importance of responding quickly to needs and complaints.

The position is approximately 12hrs per week and pays $24/hr. Hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. The position will be seasonal from May 24th to Aug 4th.

Responsibilities include:

• Arrive 30min before play and remain for 15min after play

• Ensure fields are in good condition and clear of any obstacles, etc

• Open PECSA shed for referees to access equipment

• Ensure referees are accounted for and games start and finish on time

• Record referee hours and coordinate payment on a biweekly schedule

• Circulate between fields to show PECSA presence and provide support to referees

• Ensure the emergency lanes remain clear

• Liaise with PECSA executive as required:

• Scheduling issues

• Weather delays/cancellations

• Referee, coach, parent or player concerns

• Equipment failures - goals, nets, etc

• Field condition issues - grass length, lines, etc

• Washroom facility issues

• Garbage issues

Requirements of those applying:

• Transportation to and from Johnson St fields

• Proven experience in the customer service industry (recommended, but not required)

• Bilingualism is a bonus

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Friendly manner is a must

• Ability to follow and enforce PECSA policies.
